Helen Bridges

Ms. Helen Gregg Bridges, 91, went to her heavenly home Sunday, June 5, 2016.  

Helen was born in Durham, NC on August 7, 1924 to the late Addison Davison Gregg and Helen Smith Gregg. She was married to the late Rev. W. Harold Bridges for 60 years of which she was a loving pastor’s wife and mother. She enjoyed working with the children’s choir at the churches her husband pastored and at one time had over 50 members. The children loved her so much they would give up other things just to be a member of the choir. She had a great love for flowers, especially Roses. After Rev. Bridges death she attended Antioch Church of God. Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Harold Gregg Bridges.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Anna Marea Blanton and husband Mike of Fayetteville; 2 grandchildren, Dawn B. Benner and husband David of White Oak and Gregg Bridges and wife Katrina of Holden Beach; 2 great grandchildren, Josh Benner and wife Taylor of Smithfield and Taylor Bridges of Fayetteville; 1 great great grandchild, Hunter Benner of Smithfield.

Visitation will be 7:00 – 9:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2016 at LaFayette Funeral Home with Reverends Stephen Johnson, Robert Staples and Tom Counts officiating.

Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park West, 6701 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
