I'll never forget all the important lessons you taught me, Drill Sergeant Cruz. Thinking about you this memorial day. I'd have visited if I wasn't so far away.

I hope your family is remaining strong.

To the family and friends of Abraham Cruz, Iā€™m sorry to read of the loss of your dear love one. Losing a love one to death is never easy. The Bible calls death the enemy. God promise a time when ā€˜death will be no moreā€¦nor painā€™. ā€“Revelation 21:4. May the God of Comfort be with you during this difficult time.

You were more then a uncle to us. You listened when no one would and gave us appreciated advice. You stepped up to to the plate when our own father didn't. You left a big whole in our hearts that will never be filled. We love you more then you will ever know!! We miss you!!

Mi hermano by your warm smile I could tell you were a warm person and bright light as part of your family. You left so many memories in your short time with us. God must have needed you by his side. May God welcome you with open arms and you fall in to his Army of Angels. Paratroopers never die, we just slip away, I will see you o the drop zone. Que Dios te reciba mi hermano.

Abe, we had some good times in the ā€œschool houseā€ by training a bunch of ā€œCholosā€ to multiply our force. There was always craziness in our schedules and you never seemed to let anything get to you. I would never have imagined in a million years that you had so much pain inside you. You never looked down on me, or condescended like many others I have met. Thank you for being such a great person, and Soldier. You are a great American that gave everything for your country. I will never forget you, I thank your family for raising a great man. I hope that your pain has ended and you are in a better place. I hope to see you again someday. I love you man. Rest in peace.

We have been constantly praying for the entire family to find peace and understanding in why these things happen. How can it be.? There are no answers as only God know the heart of Abraham and perhaps he called him to serve in his Army now. Find peace in knowing that one day you will reunite with him.

To his children; Daddy will watch over you from his new home. Daddy loved you all dearly and he has been deployed to serve in God's Army, what an honor. God will comfort you heart and give you peace with time.

To his parents and Brother: You are people of God and know what happens now. Is hard to accept. But God has given you the tools to deal with this as you know what his promise is. Seek God now more than ever he will get you through this. My family will continue to pray for you all.
Our deepest sympathy

Abe,
I only knew you briefly when we were in BNCOC together. You were very easy going, confident, and a real team player. I was saddened to hear of your untimely passing. My condolences to your family and friends. Your sacrifices and contributions to your country will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.

Abe,
I knew you for such a long time. We shared so many shitty Army times together. When you first came in the Army, and most importantly when we were in Afghanistan together back in '03. When went to Drill Sergeant School together you were one of the people who got me through it. When I saw your post on FB with your DSOC ring I was going to post a pic of mine and give you shit. I couldn't find my ring and I didn't see the true meaning behind your picture.

When I found out what happened I dug my ring out, and the worst thing in the world jumped out at me because 1) I was being lazy and didn't look for it to post a pic to add to your FB page to screw with you. And 2) After I found out I dug it out and my DSOC ring was dated 22 Feb 08.

I am sorry my brother, I'm sorry I did not see everything in the picture, I am sorry for not calling or texting, I am sorry for not being a better friend. I love you with all my heart. I will always look back and kick myself in the ass because I did not call or text.

I will see you on the high ground........
