Zeb Vance Thompson III

Mr. Zeb Vance Thompson, III, 74, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Zeb was born in Cumberland County, NC on October 19, 1947, son to the late Zeb Vance Thompson II and Martha Louise Batton Thompson. Zeb was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. After he served in the Military he worked as a mechanic at Purolator, retiring in 2015. Zeb will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Thompson.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Daniel R. Oxendine and Zeb V. Thompson IV; two brothers, Stoney R. Thompson of Fayetteville, NC and Bobby G. Thompson of Sanford, NC; 6 granddaughters, Danielle Henley (Brandon), Sarah Nobles, Krisleigh Thompson, Hailey Thompson, Elizabeth Autry and Makayla Ruff; 3 grandsons, Zachary Oxendine, Gage Ruff and Zeb V. Thompson V; 2 great granddaughters, 2 great grandsons and a host of extended family members.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021 at LaFayette Funeral Home 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM following the visitation with Reverend Ronnie Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in Cumberland Cemetery, 2100 Bingham Dr. Fayetteville NC 28304.
