Timothy James Shannon

Timothy James Shannon was born on February 7, 1990, and passed away on April 16, 2023, at the young age of 33. He is survived by his father Richard Shannon Jr., his mother Dianne Carter, stepfather Patrick Carter, his fiancé Richelle Secor and grandmother, Carlene Sandhagen-Connolly. He is also survived by his siblings Michael Shannon, Jonathon Shannon, Amanda Carter, Jacob Shannon, Joshua Carter and Judy Oswald. He will be greatly missed by his furbabies Levi, Layla, and Lana.

Timothy was a loving grandson, son, brother, and fiancé. He was a bright young man with a college education. He strived to become a successful small business owner. His family and friends would describe Timothy as a leader, the life of the party, fun, selfless, courageous, caring, and adventurous. Timothy was always the friend to call on when needed. He countlessly stuck up for the “underdog”. He believed in giving to his community and understood that money isn’t everything. He truly loved to see people happy and having fun. 

The family is having a Celebration of Life memorial for family and friends. Please join us at the VFW Post 670 located at 3928 Doc Bennett Rd. Fayetteville, North Carolina on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. Flowers can be sent to the LaFayette Funeral Home at 6651 Raeford Rd. Ever since Timothy was little his uncle Jon would repeat “live life every day as if you were going to die tomorrow”, which inspired him to live life in the present and not to take time for granted. He truly lived by this. The family would encourage his friends and loved ones to do so as well in his honor. Remember to enjoy the little things in life and seek the good times.
