Robert Dale Wiles Sr.

SGT Robert Dale Wiles Sr (retired), 91, passed away at his home on Saturday July 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Hamilton County, Indiana, to the late Frank C. Wiles and Lovie Mae Hill. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving and faithful wife, Jeanette Wiles, one sister and three brothers.

SGT Wiles proudly enlisted in the United States Army in 1948 and was Honorably Discharged after 16 years and 9 months of active duty service. After his service, Mr. Wiles would go on to find more success in his passions. Mr. Wiles was an avid fisherman and golfer. So much so that he went on to own the Old Bluff Par 3 Golf Course. He also built Tin City and was the owner of Helendale Trailer Park and AA Plumbing Company, all of which were located in Hope Mills. Mostly, he was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Robert Dale Wiles Jr. and his wife Carolyn Wiles of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Stephen Michael Wiles of Indiana; one daughter, Brenda Robinson and her husband Dennis Wayne of Indiana; one stepdaughter, Sandra Odell and her husband John Odell of Fayetteville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday July 15, 2021 at Jesus First Church with Pastor Gary Leviner officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Before the service.

Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens
