Renate Monika (Kramer) Hunt

On Sunday, July 17, 2022, Renate Monika Hunt, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at age 78.
Renate was born on July 24, 1943, in Berlin, Germany, to Werner and Else Fischer Kramer. There she met her husband, Edward Lee Hunt Sr. They raised one daughter, Jessica Cager, and one son, Edward Lee Hunt Jr.
 
Renate was passionate about collecting cute things, from teddy bears to local wildlife. She loved to work outdoors, gardening and manicuring her yard. She was an avid music lover, serenading family and friends to the tunes of Rick James to The Pussycat Dolls. She was known for her quick wit and her kind and compassionate spirit.
 
Renate was preceded in death by her father, Werner; her mother, Else Fischer; and her brother, Dieter Kramer. She is survived by her husband, Edward (Sr.); her daughter, Jessica, of Tucson, AZ; her son, Edward (Jr.) of New Zealand, his wife Angela, and their three sons, Max, Travis, and William; her granddaughter Alexis, of Wilmington, NC, and her parents Toavia and Michael; and her two granddaughters Imani and Eunique.
 
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Lafayette Funeral Home on Raeford Road at 2 o’clock.
