With profound sadness, we announce the passing of a devoted mother, courageous soldier, and beloved friend, Jennie Marie Armstrong. Jennie succumbed to cancer and her journey on this earth came to an end on February 23, 2024, in Durham, North Carolina. She leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and unwavering strength.

Born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, on December 18, 1985, Jennie was a beacon of resilience and determination from the very beginning. Pursuing her active duty career as a Public Affairs Specialist in 2007 in Fort Meade, Maryland. Jennie was transferred to the 2nd Brigade 10th Mountain Combat Team in Fort Drum, New York, and deployed to Iraq in 2009. She attended Officer Candidate School in 2010 in Fort Benning, Georgia, and completed the Basic Officer Leader Course in Fort Lee, Virginia which was followed by 3rd Basic Combat Team 1st Armored Division in Fort Bliss, Texas. She pursued the Public Affairs Qualification Course in 2018 in Fort Meade, Maryland, and served the 5th Mobile Public Affair Detachment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington until she transferred to the 18th Airborne Corps in 2021. Her resilience and determination helped her advance her career at a very young age, achieving the rank of Major. Throughout her distinguished career, Jennie embodied the values of duty, loyalty, and selflessness, earning the respect and admiration of all who served alongside her.

As committed as Jennie was to her career, she was even more committed to her children. As a dedicated mother, Jennie poured her heart and soul into raising her three precious daughters, Alea Rose Armstrong (12), Chloe Rose Armstrong (11), and Tristynn Rose Armstrong (9). She loved being a mother to "her roses" more than anything else in life. Her love knew no bounds, and her unwavering commitment to their well-being was evident in every sacrifice she made.

Despite the challenges she faced throughout her life, Jennie never faltered in her resolve to her family or her country. Her resilience and determination served as an inspiration to all who knew her, demonstrating the true meaning of strength in the face of adversity. Though she may be gone from our sight, Jennie's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May her memory be a source of strength and inspiration to us all, and may she rest in eternal peace. Forever remembered, forever cherished, forever loved.
