Kim La-Verne Gipson

Kim La-Verne Gipson was born on May 31, 1963 to Charles & Velma Gipson. She spent most of her life in Philadelphia before moving to Fayetteville North Carolina. No matter where she was the love always came with her. She always opened her doors to any family member in need. Some of you may know her as Kim G’z aka Mz Isis aka Mom Dukes and mostly known as Aunt Kim. She was a go getter anyone that knew her knew she always made sure she got the job done & everyone was good.

Kim Graduated With honors from Fayetteville Technical Community College. Not only did she go back to school she became an over achiever and excelled in doing so. When she put her mind to something there was no stopping her! She was a woman that you had no choice to love, she was unapologetically HER! Even when things got tough, she always kept moving forward.  She pushed herself and the people around her to always get up and go get it! Always do whatever it is in your heart, she was stubborn but somehow always found it in herself to forgive and let go! She might have told everyone about it but she definitely always opened her arms and made sure you knew she loved you and or cared about you. Kim had a soul that could never be replaced she will be greatly missed, carry all your memories with you and just know she is now in a better place.

She leaves the rest of her heart with her spouse Leroy Petty-john, her children C’wame, Ciani, Charles Jr. Canade, Kimeka, Mia & Faheem Sr. Her siblings, Charles Austin jr, Crystalrenee and Robert Sr; Grandchildren, Giannis, Amara, Kali, Kimari,Laila, KiArye, Destiny, Londyn, Faheem Jr. and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2022 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM at LaFayette Funeral Home.
