Jose Sorto Obituary

Jose Armando Sorto, 70, was born in El Salvador to the late Jose Transito Sorto, and Blanca Amaya. He died on January 27, 2021 in the city of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Armando graduated from High School in El Salvador. He attended the National University of El Salvador, and pursued the Civil Engineer career. He played professional soccer for a short period of time and won several chess tournaments in the country. Armando had a kind, cheerful heart, and a brilliant mind. In the middle of his life, he migrated to the United States of America and lived in California, until he moved to North Carolina, and spent the rest of his days with his daughter and beloved grandchildren. 

Armando never met a stranger. Whoever he encountered, he always joked and made it his mission to make them laugh. He enjoyed his family, his friends, and people in general. He was always willing to help others. Armando enjoyed music and would often sing and listen to his favorite rancheras and corridos.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of: Elva; his daughter Monica; his son in law Jeremy; his two grandchildren: Brayden and Alayna; his two brothers: Transito and Oscar; his sister Esperanza; his sisters in law: Reina and Maria; his brother in law: Arnulfo; his beloved nieces and nephews (whom he loved as his own children) and their children: Walter, Jose (Yito), Marlene, Douglas, Erika, Kevin, Jason, Keiry, Roxana, Oscar, James, Ulysses, Marcos, Yosselyn, Clarisa, Dinora, William, Cecilia, Daniel, and a great  number of other relatives and friends. He touched many lives in a special way and will truly be missed.

               José Armando Sorto, de 70 años, nació en El Salvador hijo de los fallecidos José Transito Sorto y Blanca Amaya. Murió el 27 de enero del 2021 en la ciudad de Fayetteville, Carolina del Norte.

               Armando se graduó de la escuela secundaria en El Salvador. Asistió a la Universidad Nacional de El Salvador y siguió la carrera de Ingeniero Civil. Jugó fútbol profesional por un corto período de tiempo y ganó varios torneos de ajedrez en el país. Armando tenía un corazón amable, alegre y una mente brillante. A mitad de su vida, emigró a los Estados Unidos de América y vivió en California, hasta que se mudó a Carolina del Norte y pasó el resto de sus días con su hija y amados nietos.

               Armando nunca conoció a un extraño. Con quienquiera que se encontrara, siempre bromeaba y tenía la misión de hacerlos reír. Disfrutaba de su familia, sus amigos y la gente en general. Siempre estuvo dispuesto a ayudar a los demás. Armando disfrutaba de la música y solía cantar y escuchar sus rancheras y corridos favoritos.

               Su hermosa vida será apreciada para siempre en las vidas de: Elva; su hija Monica; su yerno Jeremy; sus dos nietos: Brayden y Alayna; sus dos hermanos: Transito y Oscar; su hermana Esperanza; sus cuñadas: Reina y María; su cuñado: Arnulfo; sus queridas sobrinas y sobrinos (a quienes quiso como a sus propios hijos) y sus hijos: Walter, Jose (Yito), Marlene, Douglas, Erika, Kevin, Jason, Keiry, Roxana, Oscar, James, Ulysses, Marcos, Yosselyn, Clarisa, Dinora, William, Cecilia, Daniel; y un gran número de otros familiares y amigos. Tocó muchas vidas de una manera especial y realmente lo extrañaremos.
