John Nelson Horton

John Nelson Horton, 45, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.  Mr. Horton was born on May 11, 1976 in Heerlen, Netherlands to his father, Frank Horton and his mother, the late Joan Dodd.

John worked as a Manager for AIT before medically retiring and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fayetteville, NC. He is preceded in death by his sister, Robin Horton.  

Mr. Horton is survived by his father Frank Horton, of the home; his son, Jace Liam Horton, of the home; his sister Tracy Brown (Patrick), of Hilton Head, SC; and two nephews, Nicholas Brown, of Winchester, VA and Jeremy Brown, of Fairfax, VA.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021, 2:00 PM at LaFayette Funeral Home located at 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304. A private burial will be held Friday, December 17, 2021, 11:00 AM at Raeford City Cemetery. The Reverend Selvyn A. Lindo will be officiating, Pastor of Evans Metropolitan AME Zion Church.
