Gloria (Boone) Edwards

Gloria Edwards, 82, of Fayetteville, went home to be with The Lord, on Friday, January 14, 2022. She made her transition, at home, while being surrounded by loved ones.  

Ms. Edwards was born to the late Wilson Boone and Rose Anna Evins Boone, on February 21, 1939 in Nansemond County, VA. She enjoyed gardening, puzzling, dancing, singing, and striking a pose for anyone with a camera.

Along with her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by three brothers, Lynwood Boone, Edward Boone, and Warner Maker Boone; and two sisters, Ollie Hargrove, and Verna Rose Boone.

She is survived by her daughter, Bobbery Newsome (Milo), of the home; her brother, Luewellen Boone (Joyce), of Waterbury, CT; her four sisters, Anna Mae Boone (Steve), Pearl Emory Scott-Wade, Mary Lee Powell, all of Waterbury, CT and Linda Savannah Beamon, of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren Daniel Edwards (Colette), and Keyana Newsome, both of Fayetteville, NC; three great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request live plants be sent to the home, or a donation to St. Judes Children’s Hospital can be made in her name / memory.

The family of Gloria Edwards has requested all attendees wear masks and practice social distancing to all services.
