Gene Cranston Chavis

Mr. Gene Cranston Chavis, 53, departed this physical life and entered his eternal rest in the presence of God on April 3, 2022. Gene was born on March 5, 1969 the son of Mrs. Laney Marie Chavis and the late Mr. Archie Lee Chavis. He was a carpenter and floor installer by trade and he really enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors.

Along with his mother, Mr. Chavis is survived by his son, Mr. Brock Cranston Stewart, of Fayetteville, NC; four brothers, Mr. Fairley Chavis, Mr. Archie Chavis, and Mr. Michael Chavis, all of Fayetteville, NC, and Shawn Locklear, of TN; one sister, Janet Woodell, of Lumberton, NC; one grandson and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Eastside Church of God located at 2217 Clinton Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28312. A Funeral Service following at 5:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Rodney Strickland and Rev. Greg Locklear.
