I'm USAF but had the privilege of serving with 1SG Bell in Afghanistan in 2010. You could tell that he truly cared for his soldiers and his sense of humor could put a smile on our face even in the toughest situations. I've never forgotten some of the leadership lessons he taught me and have continued to use them throughout my career. Rest in Peace Top. You and your family are still in my thoughts and prayers.

THE BIBLE HELPS US TO APPRECIATE THAT OUR HEAVENLY PROMISES TO DO AWAY WITH THAT ENEMY DEATH.  I KNOW YOU ALL LOOK FORWARD TO THAT.  AT ISAIAH 25:8 SAYS "HE WILL ACTUALLY SWALLOW UP DEATH FOREVER."

My Son served with First Sgt Bell when he was stationed at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne.  I spoke with First Sgt Bell twice during that time and he was so polite, considerate and truly cared about the troops that he served with.  My Son has since moved on to another unit and is now in Afghanistan as well but First Sgt Bell has not been forgotten by us for all of his kindness.  I would like to offer the family my condolences and let you know you are in our thoughts.  Your loved one was truly a hero.

1SG, you really pissed me off sometimes but when you did, you had my safety and that of my men at the top of your list. You did a great job. We miss you.
