David Bates, 69, beloved husband of Victoria Bates, was called to his eternal resting place on April 18, 2020 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He entered this world on November 13, 1950 in Bellefontaine, OH, born to Herbert and Doris Bates.
He is survived by his 3 children, Matthew and wife Renie, Tim and wife Heather, and daughter Shala Vickery-Bates; and 1 brother, Herb Bates. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great children.
David proudly served in the Army from 1968 - 1970. He was a recipient of two Purple Hearts, as well as, a Bronze Star for Valor.
Memorial service will be held 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Lafayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
David will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
