SPC Antonetta Gjinaj, 33, of Fayetteville, NC died Saturday, October 30, 2021.
SPC Gjinaj was born on January 4, 1988 to Pashko and Dila Gjinaj in Southampton, NY. As a Specialist in the US Army she worked as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in the HSC 188th BSB on Fort Bragg. She joined the Army to create a secure future for her family by advancing her education opportunities. SPC Gjinaj had a love for animals and previously worked for Olde Towne Animal Hospital in Southampton, NY for ten years.
While serving SPC Gjinaj received the following awards and decorations: National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal.
SPC Gjinaj was preceded in death by her father, Pashko Gjinaj; and her son, Aric Shaun Gjinaj-Fowler.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Santiago Rosa, of the home; her mother, Dila Gjinai; her mother in law, Carmen Rosa, of Puerto Rico; two brothers, Frok Gjinaj (Albina), and Gjon Gjinaj (Crisceus); six sisters, Roza Gjinaj, Maria Gjinaj (Heriberto Santiago), Marta Berisha, Hana Gjinaj, Prena Gjinaj (Ryan Rand), and Gjina Gjinaj; nineteen nieces and nephews and a host of extended family members and friends.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, November 29, 2021 12:00 Noon at The Main Post Chapel Fort Bragg, NC. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow with Full Military Honors at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd. Spring Lake, NC 28390 with Chaplain (Capt.) Charles Awotwi officiating.
