1SG Thomas Wayne Faucette (Ret)

1SG Thomas Wayne Faucette (Ret), 67 of Raeford passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Thomas was born in Alamance County, NC on October 3, 1954, son to the late Hubert and Doris Lester Faucette. 1SG Faucette retired for the US Army after 22 years of service and then worked in Civil Service as the Director of Physical Security at Fort Bragg. A true American Hero, 1SG Faucette loved his country and especially his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but his legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, David Allen Faucette.

1SG Faucette served with the utmost distinction and received the following awards while on Active Duty: Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon W/Bronze Service Star, Overseas Service Ribbon (4), Army Good Conduct Medal (6), Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal w/OLC, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (3), Southwest Asia Service Medal w/Bronze Service Star (2), Parachutist Badge, Meritorious Service Medal w/OLC, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Assault Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal-Saudi Arabia.

He is survived by his son, Thomas Dewayne Faucette and wife Rhonda of Oak Island, NC; a daughter, Amy Wood of Elon, NC; a brother, David Faucette of Illinois; a sister, Joanne Faucette of Vass, NC; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members.

A service to Celebrate his Life with Full Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 6, 2022 at his home, 151 Gulley Branch Rd., Raeford, NC 28376.

The family will receive friends following the service at the home.
