1SG Garvin Walker (Retired)

1SG Garvin Walker, (Retired), 81, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

1SG Garvin was born in Cincinnati, OH on April 20, 1940, son to the late Laura Almon. Garvin joined the US Army after High School and retired after 28 years of service. 1SG Garvin was a proud American and was a very dedicated soldier. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sun Nam Walker and 2 brothers, Herbert Walker and Cliff Walker.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Young Dvorin and her husband, Robert of California; a brother, Fred Walker of Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Aaron Dvorin, Samantha Dvorin and Zoe Dvorin, all of California; his best friend, Bobby Mathena of Fayetteville and a host of extended family members.

Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, August 23, 2021 at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery, 2881 Gillespie Street, Fayetteville, NC 28306 with Pastor Stan Hyon officiating.
