Trula Jane Bryson, 83, of Fayetteville passed away into the arms of her savior Sunday, March 30, 2025 in Woodland Nursing Home.
Trula was born in Burke County, NC on August 6, 1941 in Burke County, NC to the late Homer Pope and Lucy Viola Elliott Pope.
Trula was the daughter of the Reverend Homer Pope, a pioneer in the Church of God Ministry. Her faith in the Lord was always first and she was a Godly example to everyone. She never met a stranger and was given to hospitality as everyone she met was always welcome in her home. She was a faithful member of Antioch Church of God where she helped in numerous roles to include the Van Ministry and loved Gospel Music and the Red Back Hymnal. Trula was the ultimate gamester, whether it be cards, bowling, golf or sports in general, she was ready to play. Trula is now living her best life as she is now in the arms of her savior, but her loss will be felt by her family, friends, church family and all who knew her for years to come.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Levon Bryson Sr., a son, Jeffrey Glenn Bryson, a daughter in law, Donna Bryson, a granddaughter, Karen Harris and a great grandson, Terry Gray Harris Jr., 3 brothers, Earl, Marvin and Harold, 3 sisters, Margie, Jessie Mae and Beulah.
Trula is survived by her children, James Lawrence Bryson, Matthew Wayne Bryson and wife Phyllis, Dennis Levon Bryson and Joyce Marlene Nobles and husband Don, all of Fayetteville; a brother, Ronald Pope and wife Debbie of Belmont, NC; sisters, Vergie Jenkins of Forrest City, NC, Jean Camp and husband Terry of Conover, NC, Juanita Hilton and husband Tony of Stanley, NC, Rachel McGaha and husband Charles of Bryson City, NC, Hazel Blackwelder and husband James of Sherrills Ford, NC; 5 grandchildren, great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Antioch Church of God, 542 Shaw Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Stephen G. Johnson officiating.
Burial will be 12:00 Noon, May 5, 2025 in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fayetteville, NC 28310.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to Antioch Church of God, 542 Shaw Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303.
