Pastor Tommy David Hendrix

Pastor Tommy David Hendrix, 69 of Shannon, NC passed away into the arms of Jesus, Thursday, May 28, 2026 in his home.

Tommy was born in Dillon, SC on June 3, 1956, son to the late Rex Hendrix and Mary Catherine Herring and his step- father, James Herring. Tommy worked as a Maintenance Engineer for Cape Fear Valley Medical Center before retirement and was a faithful member and Licensed care and prayer Pastor at Kingdom Place Church in Lumberton. He was a huge sports fan and loved Duke Blue Devils Basketball and the Minnesota Vikings. Tommy was a great papa and a wonderful husband. He loved the Lord and his focus was on Jail and Prison Ministry leading many men to the Lord. Tommy will be greatly missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Moore Hendrix of the home; a son, Anthony TJ Moore (Kirsten Inman) of Fayetteville; 2 sisters, Cathy Colt and Connie Blackmon, both of Fayetteville; 3 grandchildren, Victoria Wagoner, Kyleigh Moore (daughter in law, Tina Acosta), Braxden Moore; a special nephew, Brayden, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services to celebrate his life will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Kingdom Place Church, 2610 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC, 28358 with Pastor Gary Strickland officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Kingdom Place Church.
