SGT Angel Luis Manzueta

April 17, 1996 — April 30, 2025

Fayetteville

In Loving Memory of Angel Luis Manzueta April 17, 1996 – April 30, 2025.

Angel Luis Manzueta, age 29, unexpectedly passed away on April 30, 2025. Angel was born on April 17, 1996 to parents, Luis Manzueta and Raquel Checo in Manhattan, NY. Angel was a twin and brother of Ashley Manzueta and Kayla Castro, respectively.

Angel had always strived for a career in the Army since his teenage years. While attending School of the Future he met the man we would call his brother Ian McEnaney in 2007. After high-school Angel went on to study Kinesiology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. This is where he joined the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) program, and Rho Tau Chai a military service fraternity building houses for Habitat for Humanity, running 5ks for breast cancer and helping the local community. Angel continued his career in service working for three emergency medical services from 2018-2020. Citizen EMS, Pocono Mountain Regional EMS, and Samaritan EMS. During this time, he lived in Pennsylvania with those he considered his second family Melody McEnaney, Donna Rossi, and Stryker.

Angel joined the United States Army July 28, 2020, as a Combat Medic and assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, 3rd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment referred to as the “Gun Devils”, where he was stationed at Fort Bragg. Angel deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in July of 2021 with 3-319 AFAR, 82nd Airborne Division in support of Operation Allies Refuge. A mission of humanitarian service, aiding the evacuation of civilians from Taliban control. During his time in North Carolina, he would meet who would become his wife Marta Mickelsen in May of 2022. The bond the two had grew quickly and on October 7, 2022 they got married in Colorado. Angel and Marta moved into their home in Fayetteville where their family included cats Yumi, Kodak, and Bean. On March 26, 2024 Angel got his Golden Retriever, son and best friend Charlie, with the latest addition to the family in 2025 being a kitten named Waffle. In June 2024, Angel attended the Army Combat Paramedic Course where he successfully earned his Paramedic certification, another achievement which solidified his devotion to helping others and his success in all endeavors.

Angel’s life of service, love for those close to him, and passion for excellence will be remembered by all. We are honored to have known him and to be able to carry on his memory as the loving, thoughtful, and caring man that he was.
