Mr. Ricky Lanier Burnett, 61, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in Womack Army Medical Center.
Ricky was born in Anniston Alabama, to the late Theorphilus Johnson and Ada Bell Caver, on June 16, 1959. Mr. Burnett was a highly decorated Veteran of the US Army and most recently worked as a Wire System Installer in the Communications Industry. Decorations received by SSG Burnett, while in the Army, include the Army Commendation Medal 2nd OLC, Army Achievement Medal 1st OLC, Good Conduct Medal 4th AWD, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, as well as well as many other achievement awards. Ricky also enjoyed fishing. He competed with other family members to see who could catch the biggest Crappie in Jordan Lake.
Mr. Burnett is also preceded in death by three brothers, George W. Burnett Jr, Edgar Johnson, and Jerry Burnett; and three sisters Minnie Burnett, Shirley Boyd, and Mary Burnett.
Ricky is survived by two sons, Ricky Burnett Jr, and Calvin Witt both of Germany; three daughters, Tiffany Adams, of Florida, Kisha Hehr, and Denise Burnett both of Germany; a brother, Hugh Burnett, of New York; two sisters, Brenda Bush (Jimmy), of Alabama, and Anice Curry, of Alabama, and three grandchildren. He also has a host of other family members such as nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many friends who will always miss him.
