Raymond "Teddy" Jones

Mr. Raymond Pittman Jones “Teddy”, 91, of Maxton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 28, 1934 to the late Mr. Guilford Jones and Mrs. Janie Jones in Robeson County, NC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings; Jack Jones, James C. Jones, Watis Jones, Celia Mae Jones, Flora Mae Jones, Frank Jones, Marlin Jones, Every Lee Jones, Bradford Jones and Arminda Blue with one living sister, Edna Bowers of Oklahoma.

Mr. Raymond leaves to cherish his memories his children; Cynthia Jones (Ron Eric Locklear) along with his puppy, Whiskey Jones of the home, Raymond Jones, Jr. (Jennifer), Raymond Deese (Deborah), and Loretta Jones (Kenneth); the mother of his children, Ms. Lora B Locklear; 14 grandkids; 17 great grandkids that he loved and adored and a host of nephews, nieces and other family and friends whom he loved deeply.

Mr. Raymond was on hospice with Gentiva for 3 years. The nursing staff, social workers and pastoral support all hold a special place in our hearts. A special thank you to his care taker, Crystal Locklear that he loved and adored. She is like family.

In his life he worked on “The Right of Way” with Aspen Tree Company felling trees. He also worked at Town and Country Restaurant as a cook. With the closing of the restaurant, he resumed working at Daniel’s Bakery until retirement. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. You could always find him with his chewing tobacco “Big Duke” or his “Juicy Fruit” chewing gum. His favorite quote was “Sitting and Looking”. Mr. Raymond gave his heart to the Lord on March 18, 2026 which would mark one of his greatest accomplishments. He will be missed by all who knew him.
