Peggy Jeanne Legg, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully entered Heaven on June 18, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on March 15, 1942, in Onslow County, NC, Peggy was the cherished daughter of the late Herman "Jack" and Thelma Proctor. She now joins them, as well as her beloved husband Joseph Legg, and her sisters, Patricia Harris and Bessie Edwards, in eternal rest.
Peggy was the epitome of devotion, a loving wife to Joseph since 1956. Their life together was an adventure, as she faithfully followed him through 21 years of his Air Force career. Her greatest joy and purpose in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren - they were her entire world. She poured boundless, unconditional love into her family, and that love radiated through every interaction. Whether through her work in food service and retail, or simply in her daily life, Peggy touched countless lives with her kindness and open heart.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and an unwavering spirit that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Peggy is survived by two daughters: Tracey Berger (Daniel) of Huntsville, AL and Dana Kemplin of Fayetteville, a son: Joseph Legg (Carie) of Fayetteville, two sisters: Jackie Miller of Grifton and Linda Henley of Yadkinville, Seven Grandchildren and Nine Great-Grandchildren.
