Patricia Ann Hopkins, a woman of profound faith and unwavering commitment to her community, was born on June 30, 1944, to the late Edith Zeigler in Washington, DC. She was 80 when she entered eternal rest on November 14, 2024, at Woodmont Nursing Home in Fredericksburg, VA. Her life was a shining example of service, compassion, and faith, particularly in her dedication to her community, a commitment that not only inspired but also uplifted all who knew her.
Patricia was a dedicated professional and a woman of diverse interests. She graduated from Eastern Senior High School in Washington, DC, and furthered her education by earning an associate's degree from Federal City College. After a successful career in the federal government, she transitioned to a role reflecting her caring nature as a school nurse for Arlington County Public Schools. Her dedication to the students and her profession was unwavering. In her free time, she found joy in gardening, a hobby that allowed her to express her nurturing nature, and was an avid reader, always eager to learn and grow. Her diverse interests and passions made her a relatable and beloved figure in her community.
Patricia's life was a testament to the power of faith and service. As an ordained elder, she dedicated herself to various ministries, always striving to uplift and serve her community. Her most significant contribution was the founding of the Foundational Power Church in Washington, DC, a testament to her unwavering faith and burning desire to make a difference. She profoundly impacted on the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hopkins, of 41 years of marriage, and four brothers, John E. Miller, Herman Brisbon, Andrew Brisbon, and Thomas Brisbon.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Shelton Walls-Bey, Raleigh, NC; Sammie Brooks (Kevin), Egg Harbor TWP, NJ; Samuel L. Jones (Antuenet ), Anderson Creek, NC; Lathia Bland (Maurice), Spotsylvania, VA; Gervan Hopkins, Dumfries, VA; and her beloved children from her late husband: Thomas H. Hopkins Jr., Woodbridge, VA; James W. Hopkins deceased (Sharon deceased); Conrad M. Hopkins (Sheila), Washington, DC; Joyce A. Charles (Charles), Alexandria, VA; Virginia V. Hamilton (Quentin), Arlington, VA; Annette Hopkins, Temple Hills, MD; Antoinette Ford (Ralph deceased), Richmond, VA; David E. Hopkins (Patricia), Woodbridge, VA; and Jean N. Love, Arlington, VA. Survived by four brothers, Ronald Brisbon, Washington, DC; Vandy Brisbon, Orlando, FL; Steve Brisbon (Thomasinia), Accokeek, MD; Harvey H. Williams, Dunn, NC; two sisters, Linda Turner (Greg deceased) Rembert, SC; Blenda Williams, Four Oaks, NC; three sisters-in-law, Janie Mae Davis, Bowman SC; Evelyn Fleming and Rose Stephens, Philadelphia, PA; 41 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, and many close friends. Special loving friends Pastor Ardele Powell and Elder Wanda Eubanks.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Jupiter Grove Disciple Church, 5350 301 S. Four Oaks, NC 27524 with Bishop Dr. Mark A. Rowden officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM before the service.
Graveside Services will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Junction of Hwy 70 and Hwy 210, Smithfield, NC 27577.
