Nina Mae Hawley

Nina Mae Hawley, 94, of Raeford went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 14, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Nina was born in New Castle, Indiana on September 27, 1931, daughter to the late William Kurt Carter and Susan Alice Shepard Carter. She worked in the financial office for New Castle Memorial Hospital before making her home in Raeford many years ago. Nina was a faithful member of Rockfish Church of God and was a very Godly woman. She loved her family, her friends, her church family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Pierce Hawley.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Kin Browning and his wife Marriane of Raeford.

A service to Celebrate her life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Rockfish Church of God, 7869 Rockfish Road, Raeford, NC 28376 with pastor Gary Laviner Jr. officiating.
