Michael Stephen (Stevie) Sanders, 70, of Rock Hill, SC and Raleigh, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in Duke Raleigh Hospital.
Stevie was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on November 15, 1955, son to the late Bert Sanders and Ruby Katherine Boyles. He was a faithful member of Rawlinson Road Baptist church in Rock Hill, SC, where he assisted with many outreach programs. Stevie was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, loved music and animals. Most of all, he loved his family dearly. He will be greatly remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him for the love he showed everyone.
Stevie is survived by his siblings, Tony Sanders and his wife Betsy of Rock Hill, SC, Deborah Sanders and her husband, Ricky Reynolds of Raleigh, NC, Jon Boyles of Fayetteville; an uncle, Charles Hopson and wife Patricia of Little Rock, AR; nieces and nephews, Jennie Freeman, Kyle Sanders, Carrie Ross, Ian Sanders, David Boyles, Kenny Boyles, Benny Boyles, 6 great nieces and nephews; many extended family members and friends.
A Visitation will be held, 1:00 -2:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2026 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Funeral Services will begin an 2:00 PM following the visitation with Reverend Tommy Lee officiating.
Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park West, 6701 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
