Maurice Brown was born on January 26, 1989 to Dwayne and Chenita Brown in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. He was called to rest on August 14, 2025.
Maurice graduated from Blythewood High School in Columbia, SC in 2007 and moved to Fayetteville, NC in 2008 upon his dad’s retirement from the military. Maurice attended Fayetteville Technical Community for a few semesters, then he decided to pursue his career in the trucking industry. Maurice loved being is own boss and had dreams of owning his own trucking company, with a fleet of vehicles.
Maurice leaves to cherish his memory his (father) Dwayne, (mother) Chenita, (son) Jalen, (sister) Keisha, (brother) Isaiah, his (Grandparents), Harvey and Deborah Freeman. (Nieces) Imani, Iaina and two (nephews) Elijah and Jeremiah. (Aunts) Yolonda Brown and Danielle Riley, (Uncle) Melvin Allen, a host of cousins, Nikoli, Donte, Deonna, Brittany, other relatives and his dear friend Lakita Baltimore and her daughter Noelle. Special shout out to his (friend), Carvester Goins, with whom he shared the road with for over 10 years driving trucks from Charlotte, NC to Seattle WA.
Maurice lived his life to the fullest and he will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be 12:00 -1:00 PM Saturday, August 30, 2025 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304. A service to celebrate his life will follow at 1:00 PM at LaFayette Funeral Home with Dwayne Brown officiating.
