Margaret Edith Wilson

Margaret Baker Wilson, 95, of Raeford passed away Monday, September 21, 2026 in her home surrounded by her family.

Margaret was born in Hoke County on October 9, 1930, daughter to the late Alex McKiniley Baker and Maggie Pearl Davis Baker. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Asbury Wilson, a son, Charles Ronald Wilson, a grandson, Charles Ronald Wilson Jr., brothers, Arnold Elwood Baker, George McKiniley Baker and Johnny Alexander Baker.

Margaret was a member of Living Faith Ministries in Raeford for many years. She began working as a waitress at the Elk Restaurant in Raeford, then transitioned to Burlington Mills where she worked in the spinning room until retirement. She also worked with her husband selling feed for Wilson Livestock Feed Company. Margaret was a very good cook and loved feeding people. She never met a stranger and people would come to visit just to sit and listen to her stories of the past. If anyone wanted to know where their family was buried in the Raeford area, they would call Margaret because she could tell them. She loved keeping children and gardening, most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Greg Wilson, James Franklin “Frankie” Wilson and wife Juanita, all of Raeford; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Moser Wilson of Raeford; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends. A special thanks to Gail Ellis, Carolina Heart and Liberty Hospice.

Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Friday, September 25, 2026 at Living Faith Ministries, 1796 Aberdeen Road, Raeford, NC 28376. Mrs. Margaret will lie in state at Lafayette Funeral Home Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM for the public to visit and pay their respects.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday following the visitation with Pastor Tex Deaton officiating.

Burial will follow in Raeford Cemetery, Central Avenue, Raeford, NC 28376.
