Staff Sergeant Keith Scott, 46, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in his home.
Staff Sergeant Keith Scott was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to proud parents Barbara Scott and Clyde Watson, who preceded him in death. As a child, Keith spent many of his summers in Chicago with his maternal grandmother and extended family and later made Chicago his permanent home. He attended Martin Luther King High School on the city’s south side. After graduating, Keith entered Job Corps, where he met the love of his life, Aisha.
Keith was a devoted husband and father, leaving behind his loving wife, Aisha Scott, and their four beautiful daughters: Niaesha, Macaiya, Indigo, and Josselyn Scott. He was also a proud grandfather to Daenerys Scott. Keith is survived by his brother Brian Watson, his sister Candy Watson, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will forever cherish his memory.
In October 2003, Keith enlisted in the National Guard in St. Paul, Minnesota, later joining the Active Duty Army in October 2004 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Over the course of his dedicated career, SSG Scott served honorably in a variety of leadership and duty positions. His assignments included the 15th Trailer Transportation Detachment, Kleber Kaserne, Germany; 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery, Fort Hood, Texas; USALRCTR Daegu, Camp Henry, South Korea; 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, Fort Drum, New York; and the Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He proudly served multiple combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military education included the Warrior Leadership Course, Advanced Leadership Course, Combatives Level One, Basic Instructor Training, Field Sanitation Course, Language Institute, Sling Load Inspector Certification, Unit Supply Operation Management Course, Equal Opportunity Leadership Course, and Combat Lifesaver training. He was also pursuing an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Central Texas College.
Staff Sergeant Scott’s dedication and excellence were recognized with numerous awards and decorations, including: the Army Commendation Medal (5), the Army Achievement Medal (2), the Army Good Conduct Medal (5), the Iraq Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (5), the Basic Instructor Badge, the Senior Instructor Badge, and the Driver’s Badge.
Beyond his service, Keith was a man full of life, love, and personality. He was a passionate fan of Michael Jackson and could light up any room with his music and dance moves. He also had a deep love for Jamaican culture, embracing the food, music, and spirit that brought him joy. Most importantly, Keith’s greatest pride was being a family man, finding his happiest moments in the laughter and love of his wife, daughters, and granddaughter.
Keith Scott’s life was one of service, love, and devotion. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be remembered not only as a Soldier, but as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who gave his all to those he loved.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM– 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the All American Chapel, 7242 Ardennes Street, Fort Bragg, NC 28307.
Funeral services will follow the visitation with CH (MAJ) Greg Laskowski officiating.
Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
