Johnny Manuel Shirley, 84, of Linden, NC went home to be with his lord on September 11, 2026.
Johhny was born in Welch, West Virginia on November 17, 1941, son to the late Charles Russel Shirley and Dorothy Green Shirley. He honorably served in the United States Army before beginning his nearly 40-year career as the branch manager for Wonder Bread. He was also a devoted and faithful member of Antioch Church of God. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Joyce Mae Shirley and 10 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son Johnny “Wayne” Shirley of Fayetteville; daughter, Patricia A. Carney of St. Pauls; grandson, Nelson Lee Emmons; great grandchildren, Gina Emmons and Nelson “Daniel” Emmons; along with a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Antioch Church of God, 542 Shaw Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28303.
Funeral services will begin at 7:30 PM following the visitation with Pastor Jerry Johnson officiating.
Entombment will take place 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
