Harry Clifton “Cliff” Boahn Jr.

Harry Clifton “Cliff” Boahn Jr, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home to be with Jesus on October 2, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on December 21, 1941.

Cliff was a devoted Christian whose faith was reflected not only in the way he worshiped, but in the way he lived—loving others, serving freely, and giving without hesitation. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Ellen Boahn.

He is also survived by his daughter, Sharon Boahn-Kaylor and her fiancé, Jeffery Campbell; his son, Danny Boahn and his wife, Helen; and Brad Nord and his fiancée, Liz. Cliff leaves behind his grandchildren, Anthony, Sharon Ashley, Bobby, John, Tabitha, Bryan, Mason, and Ezra, as well as his great-grandchildren, Logan, Zachariah, and Delilah.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Sarah Boahn; his siblings, Charles “Packer” Boahn, Frances Yancey, and Brenda Boahn; and his daughter, Donna Burnette.

Cliff had a lifelong passion for hot rods and antique cars, and his beloved 1957 Studebaker held a very special place in his heart. He was a true craftsman who could make or fix nearly anything with his own two hands. Whether working with wood or turning a wrench, there was little he couldn’t figure out how to build, repair, or bring back to life.

But perhaps Cliff’s greatest gift was his heart. He had a special love for children—not only his own children and grandchildren, but every child who crossed his path. To so many little ones, he was simply known as “Papa.” The nursery at Crystal Springs Chapel was one of his favorite places to be, where he could share his love, laughter, kindness, and the heart of Jesus with the children he adored.

Cliff was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His generosity knew no bounds, and he loved people deeply. In return, he was loved just as fiercely. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy to countless lives, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Cliff was a man of faith with a big heart, skilled hands, and an even bigger love for his family and the children he called his own. Though his hands are now at rest, the things he built, the lives he touched, and the love he gave will remain.

While those who loved him will miss him beyond measure, there is comfort in knowing that Papa Cliff is now home with the Lord he faithfully loved and served.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as Papa Cliff.
