Frank Paul Holmgren, age 83, of Fayetteville, NC formerly from Cambridge, MN, died on August 21, 2026. Services and Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, October 2, 2026, at 9:30 am.

Frank Paul Holmgren was born August 29, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN to parents Genevieve G. (Birge) Holmgren and Carl E. Holmgren. Frank was raised in NE Minneapolis along with his siblings Carl, David, Richard and Linda. Frank graduated from Edison High School in 1960 and joined the United States Navy. He served proudly as a Seabee in the Navy from 1960 -1963.

Frank married his first wife Sheila J. Hill in Minneapolis, MN in 1964 and together they had two children, Keith and Kendra. In 1975, Frank married Carol R. (Schroeder)Tinkham in Clear Lake, SD and he gained three more daughters; Yolanda, Rhonda and Melissa.

Together, Frank and Carol spent over 40 happy years with their family at their home on Skogman Lake in rural Cambridge. While in Cambridge Frank became an active volunteer with the American Legion at Howard McCarty Post 290. He proudly served his local post in most all positions, as well serving at both the District and Department level. Frank was a proud member of the Color Guard at Post 290 for many years. After the passing of his wife, Frank lived out his life in Fayetteville, NC soaking up the sun and enjoying life after years of cold MN winters.

Frank P. Holmgren passed away on August 21, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol R. Holmgren, his parents Carl E. Holmgren and Genevieve G. Holmgren, siblings Carl, David and Linda.

Frank is survived by his children Keith (Kimber) Holmgren of Carlsbad, CA, Yolanda (Kevin) Dailey of Menomonee Falls, WI, Kendra (William) Salmon of Fayetteville, Rhonda (Peter) DeBartoli of Henderson, NV, Missy Golden of Cambridge, MN; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild; his brother Richard (Lynn) Holmgren of Shoreview, MN, his half-sister Laurie Sager of Andover, MN and many other close family and friends.
