Doris Diane Penuel

Mrs. Doris Diane Penuel, 72, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026 in her home surrounded by her family.

Doris was born in Johnston County, NC on October 8, 1953, daughter to the late James Mitchell and Doris Littleton Mitchell. She worked as an Electronic Technician with Eaton Corporation and was a faithful member of Crystal Springs Chapel in Fayetteville. She loved the Lord, was a loving wife, mother, loved to fish, flowers, her grandchildren and was the stable of the family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Wayne Penuel of the home; daughters, Tonia Annette Beard and husband Robert of St. Pauls, NC, Karen Woodard Page and husband Larry of Newburgh, Indiana and Amy Lynn Barton of Fayetteville; brothers, Randy Mitchell and Phillip Mitchell, both of Smithfield, NC, Danny Mitchell and wife Sue of Newton Grove, NC and Jackie Mitchell and wife Cindy of Clayton, NC; a sister, Judy Dale Mitchell of Smithfield, NC; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 PM Sunday August 9, 2026 at Crystal Springs Chapel, 1600 Crystal Springs Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306.

Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM with Pastor Bruce Suggs officiating.

Burial with follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4509 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
