Mr. Dennis O. Nelson Sr ., 69, passed away Monday May 13, 2013 in Cape Fear Valley Hospital.
Dennis was born in Rawlings, Maryland on June 18, 1943 to the late George O. and Pauline R. Nelson. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to travel, cook, build and take on remodeling projects. It brought him much joy to help others and he enjoyed catering and preparing meals for the homeless. He was a member of Epicenter Church Assembly of God and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary Sue “Susie” Nelson of Hope Mills; three children, Dennis O. Nelson Jr. of Fayetteville, Rhonna Reinhold of Fayetteville and Rhea Castro and husband Frankie Castro of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Inez Baker of Shelby, NC; two step-children, Jennifer Renee’ Talbert and Husband Jerry Talbert of Hope Mills and Jimmy Rorschach Jr. of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Lafayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville,, NC 28304.
