In Loving Memory of

Darius Josiah “JD” Stevens

May 31, 2005 – June 13, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darius Josiah Stevens on June 13, 2026, at the age of 21

Darius was Born on May 31, 2005, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Darius was the beloved son of Ronald Stevens and Stephanie Navarro. From an early age, Darius displayed a bright spirit, a caring heart, and a determination that would guide him throughout his life. He spent his childhood in Jersey City before relocating to Spring Lake, North Carolina, where he attended Overhills Elementary, Middle, and High School. He excelled academically and was recognized as an honor student.

Driven by a desire to serve others and make a difference, Darius enlisted in the United States Army shortly after graduation. Following outstanding performance on the ASVAB, he pursued a career as a paralegal. He proudly served his country with dedication, integrity, and honor.

To know Darius was to love him. He possessed a genuine spirit, a warm smile, and a compassionate heart that touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He cherished his family and friends and was especially protective and caring toward his siblings. Darius never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed and valued.

Darius had a passion for cars, enjoyed listening to G Herbo, and proudly claimed red as his favorite color. He loved life, embraced new experiences, and carried himself with confidence and determination. His presence brought joy, laughter, and comfort to those around him.

Darius was preceded in death by his grandfather Rey M Navarro

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving father, Ronald Stevens; his devoted mother, Stephanie Navarro; his brother, Aaron Stevens; his sister, Janiah Stevens; his grandmother, Charlette Stevens; Ana Rivera grandfather, Ronald Stevens; his aunts Charmaine Stevens and Joanna Rivera and Brianna Stevens uncles, Tiquan Stevens and Ray M. Navarro Jr along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by his love and kindness.

Although Darius’s time with us was far too short, the impact he made will last forever. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. We find comfort in knowing that his legacy of love, strength, loyalty, and service will never be forgotten.

**Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near.
