Clara Jean (Mclawhorn) Meyland

Ms. Clara J. Meyland, 88, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Cumberland Village Assisted Living Facility.

Clara was born in Pitt County, NC on October 9, 1929 to the late Alfred and Anna Forbes McLawhorn. She worked as a Bookkeeper/Co-Manager for A&P before retiring. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C, Meyland, 1 brother and 3 sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, William A. Meyland and his wife Eleanor of Fayetteville; a sister, Jane Tew of Clinton; a grandchild, Moriah C.M. Holland of Fayetteville;  3 great grandchildren, Isaiah A. Holland, Emma Holland and Noah Holland, all of Fayetteville.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Wednesday following the visitation at the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow the service at 2:00 PM in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
