Carol Ann Martin
3/27/1939 – 7/28/2026
Carol Ann Martin, 87, of Fayetteville, NC went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born March 27, 1939 to the late George McPherson Martin and Bette Lou Tucker in Washington DC. In her later years, Carol lived in Orlando, Florida.
Carol was a vibrant personality and a woman of many talents. She worked as a makeup artist on Park Avenue, servicing many big-name celebrities, was a seamstress, an opera singer, and hosted her own at home cooking show. She utilized her talents and showed her love by cooking for her family, designing clothes and costumes, and passing along her makeup artistry skills. Not only was she talented, but incredibly loving and supportive to everyone that she knew. From creating wonderful Christmas memories with her family, to her unwavering support of her children’s dreams, and her generosity towards strangers, Carol always found ways to show love and kindness to others. She was also a woman of strong faith. Spending time reading her Bible and praying were both very important to her, and her love for God was a driving force in all that she did. One of her most beloved possessions was her blue Bible. No matter who you were, Carol would pray for you and call you suga.
She is survived by her daughter Elana Carol Rendon Dellinger of North Carolina; son Clark Steele of Alabama; daughter-in-law Marsha Steele; sisters Sheila Elizabeth Curtin, Madelyn Balkcom, and Bette Fout, all of Orlando, Florida; brother George Martin of Vero Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by son George Daniel; brother Hughe Stephen Martin; niece Betsey Curtin; nephews Stephen Hughe Martin, Gary Martin, Michael Balkcom; great nephew Lance Barnes Jr; nephew-in-law Lance Barnes Sr; brother-in-laws John Balkcom, Charles Fout and Jim Curtin; son-in-law Andres Eloy Rendon; and daughter-in-law Mary Jane Barber.
Carol will be missed by everyone that loves and knows her.
With Grace, she crossed to the other side.
A final message from Carol:
At last, I have taken my Heavenly journey home. To those I love and hold most dear, I say “hold tight to the cross, keep the faith, and always pray without ceasing. Thank God everyday for gifts unseen. I will be waiting for you come that “Meeting in the Air.” I love you.
Thessalonians 4:16-17. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
