Bishop Bennie Clifton McLean

January 10, 1941 — March 29, 2026

Fayetteville

Bishop Bennie Clifton McLean was born January 10th 1941 to the beautiful union of the late Bennie and Connie McLean, in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Upon departing this life, the morning of March 29, 2026, with his servants heart, jovial, kind, light-hearted nature, and witty sense of humor, Bishop leaves us with a treasury of fond memories. At the age of 85, Bishop McLean has lived a long life of service; both naturally and spiritually. Bishop was a decorated United States Army and Navy soldier, and a servant of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Bishop's latter years of service, were spent as a faithful Ministry Father, at Greater Unity Tabernacle Christian Church, under the leadership of his dear cousin, Apostle Cordelia Challenger. Bishop served in several capacities; as an Assistant Pastor, on the outreach ministry team, supervised the men's shelter/Men's Ministry of Destiny, and even enjoyed serving as Superintendent of Sunday School. To celebrate his life, Bishop leaves his Wife, Bernadine McLean, and their blended family of nine Children, 13 Grandchildren; two brothers, Elder Roosevelt McClain and Sister-in law, Elder Janie; James McLean; (three sisters preceded him in death, Flora Macintosh, Mildred Foy and Alice Blanks); and a host of niece's, nephews, cousins, many family members, saints, and friends. We love you Bishop!
