Benjamin “Benny” Lee Jones
February 1, 1965 – February 11, 2026
Benjamin “Benny” Lee Jones, 61, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in the same town where he was born, surrounded by those who loved him most. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Benny will be forever remembered for his boundless kindness, his generous spirit, and the quiet wisdom he shared with everyone he met.
Born on February 1, 1965, Benny was the cherished son of the late Howard and Betty Lou Jones. On December 5, 1984, he married the love of his life, Pamela Jones, beginning a partnership of over forty years defined by laughter, devotion, and a shared love of family. Together, they raised four children—Jessica Jones Farr, Erica Jones Strickland, Benjamin Joseph Jones, and Jessica Kelli Jones—of whom he was immeasurably proud. In his later years, his greatest joy was his role as “Papa,” doting endlessly on his beloved grandchildren.
A dedicated plumber for over 40 years, Benny’s commitment to his craft and his community went far beyond the job. Known as someone who could always be counted on, he frequently lent his skills to neighbors and friends, often refusing payment simply because he believed helping others was the right thing to do. To many beyond his own kin, he was a steady, guiding father figure.
Benny found beauty in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing at dawn, golfing, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and watching racing events. He marveled at the power of a thunderstorm, enjoyed building snowmen in the winter, and cherished quiet mornings on the front porch with his loving wife Pam, coffee in hand, listening to the birds. Whether sharing a riddle or capturing a family memory through a photo, Benny lived with a heart wide open to the world.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his children, Jessica Lynn (husband Chris), Erica Leah (husband Scottie), Benjamin Joseph; Jessica Kelli, his grandchildren Aryana Farr, Urijah Farr, Nicholas Strickland, Elayna Jones, and Elijah Strickland, his siblings, Debbie Carr and family, Howard Keith Jones and family, and Antonio Jones and family; and his many cherished, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
God saw that he was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around him
and whispered, “Come with Me.”
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes “the best.”
