Aidan Michael Leonard

Aidan Michael Leonard passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2025, at the age of 25. Born on January 20, 2000, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Aidan was a vibrant soul known for his adventurous spirit, optimism, and outgoing personality. He graduated from Hoke County High School in 2018 and began pursuing a career in the welding industry. His journey commenced with Meridia Kiosks in Aberdeen, North Carolina, and in 2020, he relocated to Concord, North Carolina, where he joined UA Local 421 Plumbers and Pipefitters. During this time, he had the privilege of studying under and being mentored by Billy Platt. Aidan was highly respected by his peers and supervisors alike, and his dedication and skill allowed him to excel and grow within his profession.

He demonstrated his exceptional talent by winning the 2025 Georgia-Carolina Tri-State Welding Competition and was subsequently invited to compete at the national level in Louisiana. Aidan will be deeply missed by his mother, Sarah Leonard; his sister, Daneya Johnson; his maternal grandmother, Kathern Cook; his uncles, Thomas Leonard and family, and Justin Leonard and family; Travis Greenawalt and family; along with a broad circle of friends and loved ones.

A celebration of Aidan’s life will be held in Concord, NC at a future date, with details to be announced.
