SGT James M. Hawley, retired and a proud veteran of the US Army passed away on March 19, 2024 with his loving wife by his side.
James was a patriot who loved this country and was committed and ready to boldly support and defend it. He was a combat veteran who served a tour in Afghanistan. He honorably served his country and the US Army until he was medically retired in 2012. Though in his heart and soul, James never stopped his military service.
James loved fishing and hunting. He loved outdoors and nature. He was a handyman who loved doing projects at home with his wife. He fulfilled his dream to live in a log cabin by the water. He lived the last days of his life to the fullest being cared for and unconditionally loved.
James loved life. Despite the many challenges he encountered in this life, he never quit. He never wallowed in self-pity, despair and misery. He always thrived despite adversities by making a simple yet profound choice: the choice to overcome. He faced his life’s adversities head-on armed with faith, hope and love.
James had an unwavering faith in God. He finished his course serving the Almighty God as a deacon in the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo).
James had fought the good fight, he had finished the race and kept the faith until the end.
