Pastor J. Lamar Christmas

Pastor J. Lamar Christmas, 74, of Fayetteville, NC passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

His legacy lives on through his wife of 50 years, Ella Yarborough Christmas of the home and children, Mary Zanders and husband, Norman R. Zanders, Jr. of Hope Mills, NC, Margaret Christmas, Joseph Christmas II, both of Fayetteville, NC and adopted son, James DeNardo and wife Marcia DeNardo of Watertown, NY. His blessings of grandchildren are Aaron Zanders, Grace Zanders, Laura Symonds, Sarah DeNardo, Nicholas Goodman and Aydan Parker. He has 5 brothers and sisters, Nellie Welch of Sumter, SC, Rev. John Christmas of Aiken, SC, Teretha Murphy of Shalimar, FL, Helen Still of Augusta, GA and David Christmas Jr. of Greeleyville, SC. He is loved by many nieces and nephews, too numerous to name them all and many extended family members.

Pastor Christmas had a heart for all people and was always willing to help those who were in need. He pastored from 1980-2017 and also evangelized during this time. For many years he had been a Master Barber and he always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He will truly be missed, but we know he is enjoying his heavenly home.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Timberlake Church of God, 3515 Sturbridge Dr. Hope Mills, NC 28348.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Timberlake Church of God with Pastor Bruce Suggs officiating.

Burial will follow in Richburg Cemetery, Greeleyville, SC.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mrs. Ella Christmas.
