US Army Retired, SFC Leonard P. Fitzgerald, 68, of Fayetteville passed away on May 14, 2018 in his home.
He retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service, and was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, serving two tours overseas in Germany. SFC Fitzgerald then worked for the Directorate of Public Works on Fort Bragg before retiring again after 17 years.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Jackie L. Fitzgerald of the home; he is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer L Fitzgerald of Reynolds, GA; daughter, Vicky F. Koehne of Manahawkin, NJ; sons, Rodney H. Koehne of Fayetteville, Michael W. Koehne of Salisbury, NC, Steven P. Koehne of Manahawkin, NJ; his brother, Bill Fitzgerald of Dewy, AZ; his sisters, Helen Schilling and Patricia Liemandt and husband James, all of Phoenix, AZ; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life and love will be held 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the home, 1025 Miller Ave. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
