John Allen Timothy

Mr. John Allen Timothy (Timmy), 72, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.

Timmy was born in East Cleveland, Ohio on December 4, 1946 to the late John E. Timothy and Corrine Furst Timothy.  He worked as a mechanic and supervisor in the textile industry although his real passion was working on automobiles.  He was a foster Dad for 13 years opening his home and heart to 300 children.  Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Hynd; an infant grandson, Liam S. Callahan.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Artha Elizabeth Timothy of Hope Mills; four children, John J. Timothy and wife Karla P. Timothy of Stedman, North Carolina, Frank A. Timothy and wife Misty C. Timothy of Great Falls, Montana; Carol L. Callahan and husband William K. Callahan of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Raven A. Timothy of the home; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Timothy and wife Amanda, Nathan English, Colby Callahan, Madaline Castro and husband Jesus, William Timothy and wife Sierra, Talon Timothy, Jacob English, Trinity Timothy, Caeley Callahan; four great grandchildren, Arabella, Parker, Maisie and Delilah and a host of extended family.

Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Crystal Springs Chapel, 1465 Crystal Springs Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306.

A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 P.M. following the visitation with Reverend Bruce Suggs officiating.
