James Thomas Sturdivant Sr.

James Thomas Sturdivant Sr., 70, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2018 in his home after a brief illness.

James was born in Scotland County on January 21, 1948 to the late Clem and Delia Butler Sturdivant. He served in the US Army, was a Vietnam Veteran and worked as an Electrical Engineer.  James was a very kind and generous person. He helped many people and was loved by all. He will be greatly missed by those that loved him and all that knew him. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother.

James is survived by his son, James Thomas Sturdivant Jr. of Irvine, CA; a daughter, Maria Anselm of Texas, 2 grandchildren and 14 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 Friday, August 10, 2018 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.

A Graveside service with Military Honors will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018 in LaFayette Memorial Park West, 6701 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Pastor Robert Staples officiating.
