James Edward Smith Jr., 57, passed away on October 16, 2018 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

James served in the US Army and loved wrestling and going to church. He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Smith, his mother and her husband, Betty Lou Edge Scribner and Donald Lewis Scribner.

He is survived by three children; a sister, Retha Mesa; 2 nieces, Misty and Tesla O’Quinn; 2 nephews, Bryan and Shayne O’Quinn and a host of extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Family Community Baptist Church with Pastor Roy Arrington officiating.
