John Henry Fordham Jr.

John Henry Fordham Jr. 73 of Saint Matthews South Carolina passed away on March 14th, 2024, surrounded by his family.

John was born on January 01, 1951, to the late John Henry Fordham Sr. and Alma Ethel Fordham.  He was the third of Nine children.

John worked in the garment industry for forty years in New York city.  He retired as a cutting room supervisor from Jones of New York in 2019.

John enjoyed sports, more specifically the New York Knicks, The New York Jets, and the New York Mets.  He played with several organized softball leagues well into his forties. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and music.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years Lacoy Fordham. His children Yolette Ellis, Melodie Pleasant, Sharif Fordham, Chaniqua Gomez, and their spouses. Thanh Ellis, Robert Pleasant, Michelle Fordham, and Francisco Gomez.

Grand children Terin Ellis and Spouse Chelsea Ellis, Tanay Ellis, Allen Fordham, Katelyn Fordham, Jocelyn Fordham, Ethan Fordham, Shakia Thomas, Kiyana Thomas, and Sharif Fordham II (preceded John in death).

Great grandchildren Mack Bryant Ellis, Jace Belen and Jaxen Belen.

Siblings Robert Fordham, Issac Fordham, Flora Fordham, Eugene Fordham, Shirley Fordham, Joyce Fordham, Barbara Jean Mitchell, Debra Fredrick, Erlene Reed and Jenniedean Kenon.

And a host of nieces and nephews from the Fordham and Towns family.

John was loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother, and uncle.  He will be greatly missed.
