Betty (Benton) Locklear

Betty Benton Locklear, aged 80, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on March 12, 2024.

Betty was born on January 18, 1944 in Wilmington, NC to the late John William Benton and Susie Marie Sullivan. Betty had a career in the production industry, working for the Western Publishing Company.

Betty was an avid reader, and could always be found with a book in her hand, lost in the stories she was reading. She would breeze through large texts like it was nothing, and would always be on the lookout for her next read. She was a fan of physical books and would refuse to read anything off a kindle, unless it was a book about Tom Jones. She had a deep love for his music, and even enjoyed going to his concerts with her girlfriends. One other thing Betty loved was yellow, which was her favorite color.  

Betty is survived by her daughter, Dianne Casey, and husband Errol; sister Debbie Savicki; and granddaughter Kristin Casey. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Leslie Locklear; brother Steven Benton; and sister, Helen Benton.
