Sherry (Higgins) Worthley

Ms. Sherry (Higgins) Worthley, 62 of Hope Mills, NC passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2016 surrounded by her family.  

The youngest of three daughters, she was born on May 6, 1953 in Canastota, NY to the late Anna Fontana.  She graduated from Chittenango High School in 1971 and later earned her Associates degree from Mohawk Valley Community College.   

She was an avid reader who loved to travel and spend time with her friends and family.  She enjoyed watching hockey and football and was very proud of the work she did directing children’s night every week at Fazoli’s Restaurant.    

Sherry was funny, warm-hearted and generous and she brightened the lives of everyone around her.  She loved working with children and never hesitated to help anyone in need.      

Sherry is survived by her son Michael and his wife Shauna and their two children Sydney and Christopher; her son Chad; her daughter Kelly and her husband Brian and their children Justin and Skyler; her daughter Chelsea; her former spouse Rolla; and her dearest childhood friend Donna and her husband Gary.

A family gathering will be held 10:00 AM-12:00 Noon Sunday, April 24, 2016, at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
