Roland D. Young

Mr. Roland D. Young, 80, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, in Autumn Care of Fayetteville.

Roland was born in Johnston County, NC on July 24, 1935 to the late Rolandas and Avy Lee Young. He served in the US Air Force for six years and retired as a Sales Manager with Peoples Security Life Insurance Company. Roland was a loving father and a friend to all who knew him. Along with his loving parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Lee and Elijah Young and sister, Emma Blackwell.

He is survived by his three sons, Roland Dale Young Jr. and wife Diane of Fayetteville, Charles Floyd Young of Raeford and Anthony Craig Young and wife Cindy of Oak Island; brothers, Isaac C. Young of Fayetteville, David Young and wife Shirley of Leland and Leroy Young and wife Linda of Fayetteville; sisters, Nedgie Hathaway of Fayetteville and Mary Brigman and husband Larry of Fayetteville; 2 grandchildren and a special friend, Judy Decicco.

Visitation will be 12:30 PM -1:45 PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM at the LaFayette Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herman Autry officiating.

Burial will follow in Lee Family Cemetery.
